The start of something.....

So I think I have told you about this before but about a month ago I purchased the first season of LOST. When it was on TV it was a must watch every week. I was obsessed. Well after many hours, today I finished it.
Finishing it is good and bad at the same time. Because I finished it, it makes me want to run out and but season 2 and start watching it. The good side of the matter is that I have started a collection of another TV show.
The other show I have been obsessed with was The West Wing....which is also an excellent show....

To the doors that have closed

Just because there may have been some doors that closed today, does not mean they are completely closed. I am hopeful they remain cracked for future opportunities.  Enough said...........(I think)

What a Weekend

Hey Friends,

Wanted to tell you what a great weekend I had. It was capped off today with the wedding of a good friend. I had the weekend off of work so that was great to begin with.
On Saturday I participated in a "Make a Difference" day project. There was about 75 of us that took certain portions of our city and picked up trash along the city streets. We did that for about 3 hours (9-Noon). I was paired up with the auditor for the city of Portsmouth. We had the opportunity to talk about a lot of things throughout the day. In the end we gathered around 5 and a half bags a trash that would have other wise been on the streets of Portsmouth.
Not quite sure what the other groups accomplished but I'm sure collectively it was something we can all be proud of.
I recently purchased the first season of LOST and have been obsessed with watching it. I've done this once before with the series "The West Wing." Still working on collecting all of those, I am missing two seasons, (1&4).
So I spent a couple of hours Saturday afternoon with LOST.
Then it to my nieces Birthday party.....She lives in a town that's about 45 minutes away. It's a haul to get there but it always a joy to visit.
This morning I said the prayers this morning at church. I was also booked to preach a Limerick in November today. It should be interesting to see how that plays out.
Some other things of note that took place today included, starting play practice for the church Christmas play. I reluctantly accepted a roll in last years play, and this year I have been selected to play the same role. (We will see how that goes.)
Like I said earlier went to the wedding this afternoon. Got to see some good friends there. I will be sure and post some photos when I get the edited.
Next weekend I am hopeful to work on a project that was started months ago at Camp Bountiful that needs finished.......Next weekend is also the business meet at the branch where I attend. There have been some planing by some people so that also should be interesting to see how it plays out.

Well that's enough of my rants for now.......thanks for reading,

Peace

I know I have been distant as of late when it comes to blogging but I have been busy and things are changing everyday. I have been thinking about this post for a few days now and thought it was time to put my thoughts down.
I have had the above bracelet on my left wrist for about three years now (it's washed regularly).
It was given to my at the end of SPEC in 2009. I thought it was cool so I put it on thinking it was the cool thing to do at the time.
A couple of months later I still had it on. I do not recall when the decision was made to keep it on until it breaks, but at some point it was.
These days it has become natural for me to not even think about having it on, and my wrist would look weird without it.
Surprisingly there have been every few people ask me about it. When people do ask me about it I tell them the story I just told you and end by saying there's a sermon in there somewhere.
About a month ago I discovered a crack in the bracelet at the end of the letter P, and it has gotten progressively worse.
The crack is now to the bottom of the bracelet and cuts the thickness of the bracelet in half. So, before to long it will break off.
I suppose it's ironic that peace is beginning to break. Am still trying to figure out that sermon within this experience, will keep you posted.

Thanks for taking the time to read my rants.......
